Speak out in acts; the time for words has passed, and only deeds will suffice.

Mike Cornelison and Fender Jazz BassFirst thing is, on a blog that has my own name stamped right on it, I should probably ditch the politics and just keep it puppies and rainbows here, but for me, politics is like a crack pipe, I might be able to put it down for a bit, but it always seems to end up calling me back.

What I don’t get is why people get so angry over seeing things differently. Isn’t that what makes life interesting? I don’t hate liberals, in fact, in a lot of ways, liberals are more interesting than conservatives to me because discussing politics with someone who agrees with you is kind of . . . boring.

Beyond the politics, I’m into programming, my little homespun programs have maybe 1/2 million downloads across the Internet, I dig music and songwriting, especially the lyrical side of it, and I’m pretty well read for a guy who went to music school instead of college. I’m also very interested in people who exhibit anti-social and psychotic behavior. I guess I’m intrigued by chaos, I’m intrigued by behavior which seemingly has no explanation.

What I enjoy more than anything right now though, is writing. I’m a confirmed audiobook addict and I listen to enough different writers that if I’m plagiarizing, I do it from enough different sources that it can’t really be traced to one specific source. There’s a quote from T.S. Elliot, “Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different.” I hope to have done a little of the latter when all is said and done.

So that’s me in a nutshell. Welcome to the blog, hope you find some things to comment on and keep you coming back.

So, are our boys going to pick up where they left off last year and live up to their potential or break our hearts once again?

Return to glory, baby! Silver and Black are going to shock the world and win it all this year! (But I’ll settle for a return to the playoffs at the very least.)

I like the site , I was looking at it on the way to work and came across the 100 year old lighting her cigarette off her Birthday Cake -Cant find it , but I will keep looking.

Is life a response to our attitude , probably that old lady looked like she has taken life as it came. Smoke , if you have them .

Liked the Burkhini photoes , what do the guys were a mankini ?? Choices – Well who am I to tell somewhat wht they should or should not like – Its like the Barrista telling me I have my coffee too hot – but that is the way I like it . Live and let live -as long as you are not hurting anyone .

  • Mike,
Your blog is, in many ways, what I’d like mine to become. I admire your articles very much. Mostly, I envy your ability to maintain a high level of quality while being relatively prolific. I am proud of my blog; but, you are the Hoss!

Very kind words, John, thank you very much. It’s a labor of love, so it’s a lot of fun plugging away and trying to keep it fresh. Checked out your blog and wishing you a lot of luck with your work, especially on the political side. I’ll be keeping an eye out for how things progress in your endeavors as well.
