So yesterday, Jim Carrey released his unfunny and idiotic Cold Dead Hand song portraying NRA members as just a bunch of dumb rednecks, completely oblivious to the fact that 90% of gun crime is committed by criminals who don’t give a damn about gun control, and by any measure, that song was a bomb. That song bombed almost as bad as that Bob Wonderlick movie, or whatever the heck they called his latest movie about magicians that nobody went to see. All you had to do is watch the Twitter hashtag to know how badly that song bombed, there are people with 100 followers whose timelines were scrolling faster than #ColdDeadHand. That hashtag was lucky if it was getting a tweet every other minute.
So while watching his hashtag crawl, I noticed this tweet:

How could I not respond to this?
First, it brings to mind a famous quote: “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
That photo is especially relevant here, because if you look closely at the image, you can see the dead bodies stacked on top of each other beneath the sign.
How do you think Jim Jones got those 918 people in Jonestown to line up one by one and drink their little cups of kool-aid, knowing that there was a lethal dose up cyanide in every cup?
Contrary to the popular misconception, it wasn’t just the brainwashing that got the people to drink knowingly of their suicides, it also just as much the fact that they knew if they resisted, they would be shot down like animals, because the only people in Jonestown who were armed were Jim Jones himself and a handful of his most trusted guards. Jonestown is just one of many many examples throughout history of what happens when the people in power make sure all the guns are in their hands.
Let’s return now to our smug European friend who says, “Come on ‘merica, you don’t need guns, watch EU!”
I’m laughing as I type this, laughing at his condescension that this guy has toward America and our right to bear arms after the history of what happened in Europe in the previous century.
Go back and study your 20th century European history, go back and study that history and tell us how well it worked out for the Europeans when they laid down their guns like lambs. Can you imagine how awesome that must have been to witness nation after nation in Europe falling under the grip of totalitarian rule as small bands of armed revolutionaries took quick control over the masses of unarmed people?
Once the tyrannies took hold of their respective European nations, those unarmed masses had very little means of acquiring guns and and freeing themselves of their despotic rulers, so there was nothing to stop these dictatorial regimes as they the dragged the entire world into not just one world war, but two world wars resulting in a death count of nearly 100 million soldiers and innocent civilians across the globe.
When you contemplate all the horrors that were wrought on the world by Europe in the 20th century, you would think that just out of common decency, the Europeans would realize we’re still too close to all that misery, carnage and death for any of those Euros to be making righteous moral judgments on any nation. As the saying goes, “too soon”. Maybe give it another century before enough time has passed where you might be distant enough from the 20th century to attempt to stand on a moral ground and make condemnations of other nations, especially when it comes to condemning a United States which bailed you out of two world wars that were both started on European soil and especially after the U.S. was the one thing that stopped the Soviet Union from steamrolling your entire continent under the misery of the Soviet control.
Of course, the lessons of what happens when the citizens of a nation have no means to defend themselves against relatively small groups of armed revolutionaries storming to power, these lessons extend beyond Europe to the Russian landmass spanning both Europe and Asia, where Stalin killed and starved 43,000,000 unarmed Russians, followed by another 18,000,000 killed by subsequent Soviet Leaders. The slaughter of unarmed citizens extended on into Asia, with Mao Zedong in China, who slaughtered 64,000,000 of his unarmed citizens, with Pol Pot in Cambodia, who slaughtered 2,000,000 of his unarmed people (an incredible 28.4% of the population) and with the “Dear Leaders” Kim of North Korea, who have starved and executed a combined 2.4 million of their unarmed people. It also extends to Africa, where Idi Amin killed as many as 300,000 of his unarmed Ugandans, and into the Caribbean, with Fidel Castro, who killed 150,000 of his unarmed Cubans and jailed maybe twice as many for “political crimes”. Sadam Hussein had disarmed his public, Iran has disarmed its public, and we could go on and on . . .
But I think George Mason said it best . . .
To disarm the people is the most effectual way to enslave them.
It seems many Europeans can’t even remember their own history of the century just passed, so it bears repeating again: those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. Never imagine that it could never happen here, just because we’re Americans. Don’t fool yourself, every government ever created has an irresistible impulse to expand it’s control into every aspect of our lives. That governmental compulsion towards absolute control is inevitable, it’s in every government’s DNA, it is the very nature of any government.
The only way to keep a government in check is to make sure the government fears us, the people, and not the other way around.
Never ever submit to laying down your arms like good little lambs and never ever put all your faith in an almighty benevolent government to be your sole protector against the wolves, because if given the chance, government will always become the ultimate wolf.
Remember history and remember that every time in history, when the people in control of the government are the only people who are armed, it’s always going to end badly. Always.

9. Liberal professors and historians have long tried to draw similarities between the uber-nationalism of the Nazis and the right-wing patriotism in America. While it’s true that there is a whole lot of flag-waving among the right in America, and flag-burning here is almost exclusively a left-wing thing, it’s ridiculous to try to cast the Nazi’s as being “right-wing” simply because of their rampant patriotism when you consider the fact that nothing says crazy nationalism like the lefties and their state-organized Communist shindigs:
8. Hitler forced nationalized health care upon his nation. So did Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress. Like a pod with three peas, they’re Lefties, all three.
7. Speaking of peas, do you have any doubt in your mind that the Vegan vote for Obama wasn’t somewhere close to 9 out of 10? Vegetarians are one of the most left-wing groups of people you’ll ever meet. Hitler was a vegetarian too, you know.
6. To quote Claude Sandroff: “Crony capitalism is the most putrid kind of partnership between industry and government and it was most famously and successfully championed by the regimes of fascist Italy and Nazi Germany long ago.” Just like those left-wing fascists before him, Obama has also used more taxpayer dollars than any president in history in trying to pick the winners and the losers. Unfortunately, Obama mainly has a knack for picking the losers.
You know Obama envies Hugo Chavez and all the other dictators in the world.
5. If Obama had the dictatorial powers he dreams of, our American government would be in control of every aspect of our economy, just like the left-wing fascists of Germany and Italy were.
4. Many lefties in America believe that in the name of the common good, the best type of citizenry is an unarmed citizenry, just like their fascist gun grabbing brethren in Nazi Germany.
3. Having ABC-NBC-CBS-PBS-NPR-CNN-MSNBC running non-stop state propaganda still isn’t enough for Obama and many of his liberal supporters. On a daily basis you’ll hear their collective outrage that one questioning voice is still allowed to exist over at Fox News! The left-wing fascists of Italy and Germany were also hellbent on crushing all voices of opposition.
2. Just like the Nazis, every dictatorship that still exists today is left-wing and socialist. Just as surely as Woody Allen argued with a straight face that Obama should be granted dictatorial powers and Harry Belafonte argued Obama should “work like a third world dictator” and put all the Republicans in jail, most liberals, whether they admit it out loud or not, are little tyrants at heart who believe in a ruling class that knows what’s best for you better than you do for yourself. I’m convinced that most of the liberal professors teaching Plato’s Republic still believe in their heart of hearts that Plato’s Utopian dream could still actually exist in the real world, despite the fact that every single time, even on the occasions when dictatorships have tried to follow Plato’s example and place all the smartest and benevolent people in all the right positions, the all-powerful government has always ended in death and misery for everyone outside of the ruling elite.

What do you get when you get a leader who doesn’t like people?
You can end up with a sociopath like Nero, who would think nothing of throwing the Christians to the lions and then laugh at the very thought of it, as portrayed in the 1932 Cecile B. DeMille classic, Sign of the Cross:
Take the rare mix of a man with enough oratory skill and charisma to become Messiah to his fainting followers and who at the same time doesn’t actually like people, showing disdain for Democracy in telling his supporters to seek “revenge” and to “punish our enemies,” and give power to that man who was mentored by a Communist, who uses well-known Communist slogans and spouts Communist ideas about “redistribution” and “spreading the wealth around” . . . what’s the worst that could happen?
The Obama who does not like people is probably more of an introvert than a mass-murdering sociopath, but it is interesting to note that he does share most of the other characteristics of the above leaders: a messiah-type figure who believes in the citizens as mere subjects of the state, a man with a basic indifference to people in general and an absolute belief in the central planning of a government-run economy . . . the resemblance is kind of startling, wouldn’t you say?

Statistics:
Estimates of the genocide Mao waged on his own people through the Cultural Revolution range from 49,000,000 to 78,000,000.
Stalin is responsible for almost 43,000,000 dead through murders and government-created starvations of his own people. Both Mao and Stalin each killed more of their citizens than all the 38,000,000 battle-dead of the wars of the 20th century
Another 18,000,000 of the Soviet people died at the hands of other Soviet leaders, that’s on top of the 43 million Stalin killed.
Beyond the millions of soldiers Hitler was responsible for killing on the battlefields, Hitler also massacred 12,000,000 citizens in concentration camps and by deliberate murders.
Pol Pot took over a Cambodia with a population of 7,000,000 and managed to kill some 2,000,000 of his own people from April 1975 through December 1978. That’s over one-quarter of his people in a mere 44 months.
In North Korea, Kim Jong-il’s total dead from one of their food shortages are estimated at between 900,000 to 2.4 million dead in just the three short years between 1995 and 1998. In the most closed society on Earth, who knows how many more North Koreans have died in internment and reeducation camps which we can only see via satellite.
Csanad Looks Like Such a Pleasant Guy in the Photos
Csanad Szegedi was notorious for his incendiary comments on Jews: He accused them of “buying up” the country, railed about the “Jewishness” of the political elite and claimed Jews were desecrating national symbols.
Then came a revelation that knocked him off his perch as ultra-nationalist standard-bearer: Szegedi himself is a Jew.
Following weeks of Internet rumors, Szegedi acknowledged in June that his grandparents on his mother’s side were Jews — making him one too under Jewish law, even though he doesn’t practice the faith. His grandmother was an Auschwitz survivor and his grandfather a veteran of forced labor camps.

Now there’s a feel good story. This guy was out there on the radical fringe spewing hate against Jews and then it turns out he’s a Jew himself! Now not only does the rest of society not want anything to do with him and his brand of hate, but now his own hate-spewing comrades (make that former comrades) hate his ass even more than the rest of us!
Funny, but not too surprising considering history’s most evil anti-Semite of all, Adolph Hitler, was so concerned of his murky lineage and unknown paternal grandfather that he had a Nazi law written defining Jewishness to exclude Jesus Christ and himself. (Talk about trying to cover his own ass.) Whether or not he was Jewish he probably never knew and the world at large will probably never know, but there was a case of a man consumed with self-doubt and self-hate.
Shifting from Jew-haters to gay-bashers, I have a theory that a man’s heterosexuality is inversely proportional to his level of homophobia, the more hetero a man is, the less he worries over the “problem” of gay people, the more homophobic a man is, the more he’s actually trying really hard to bury his own homosexual tendencies. Those people that go looking to bash gays? Biggest queers on the face of the earth, they’re just in complete denial over their own feelings.
