Beauty is the mark God sets on virtue.
- Emerson, American Poet and Essayist (1803-1882)
First-generation immigrants are some of the most patriotic Americans you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting. For most, they dreamed of America long before they came here, many of them spending years pooling all their resources together and even risking their own lives just to get here. And I don’t hold anything against the people who came here illegally, they did it to make for a better life for themselves and their families. How can anyone fault illegal immigrants for not taking seriously the immigration laws that our own government abjectly fails to enforce?
The immigrants who came here because they believed in the American dream have always been this country’s greatest natural resource, and while they often continue to take pride in the cultures and traditions of the countries they left, most of these immigrants also embrace wholeheartedly the American culture which afforded them so much opportunity.
Then there are the kinds of pendejos like the immigrants who gave their child this sign to hold:
For those ignorant kooks who come here with no desire to call themselves Americans and assimilate into American culture, I have just a couple questions:
Do you not realize that if Mexico had never given up the lands of the Southwestern U.S., the end result would be that the people of Mexico would have to immigrate farther north to escape their country’s third-world poverty?
Why on Earth would we want to “Make America Mexico Again” and turn this great nation back into a country that people risk death crossing deserts to trying to escape?
Oh what’s that you say? You say that now that these lands have become rich and prosperous in American hands, now you want to take it back for Mexico? Sorry, but you’re delusional.

There are an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in America today. Where most families in America immigrated here playing by the rules, these people broke the rules and cut to the front of the line.
Even worse, you’ll see some of these illegal immigrants at rallies demanding rights, talking about racism in America and waving stupid signs reading, “No Human Being is Illegal”, supposedly ignorant of the fact that every nation on Earth has immigration laws and back in the home country for most, the Mexican government is ten times as harsh when it comes to their immigration laws, especially on the enforcement and punishment side of it.
I can never get over the mentality of the La Raza types who claim there’s no such thing as illegal immigration and fantasize about a “Reconquista” of the land that was STOLEN in the Mexican-American War. Get a clue. What kind of claim did Mexico have on this land? Some scattered missions across vast, empty stretches of land?
What, you want to protest the reality of history? You want to be in denial over the fact that every war has its winners and losers and that to the winners go the spoils?
You think that’s unfair? Maybe we should ask Spain if it thinks it’s unfair they lost their colony in the Mexican War of Independence.
I laugh every time I hear the whole idiotic idea of there being some sort of “Aztlan”. You know what you would have if you could wave a magic fairy wand and undo the results of the Mexican-American War? You’d have about 1 million more square miles of the Third World here in North America, that’s what you’d have. If Mexico had won that war, there would be no promised land in this region and no one would even want to immigrate here in the first place.
Finally, look at your own national language, Mexico. Where does that language come from again? That’s right, it comes from Europe, Spain to be specific, and you’ve got a little too much of the blood of the Conquistadors in your veins to be crying about any stolen land, Mexico.
That’s the part that really gets me is sometimes you’ll talk to people who are here illegally and it’s clear some think America owes them something, like they were robbed or something. Listen, America doesn’t owe you anything any more than if I was to immigrate down to Mexico under the delusion that Mexico owed me something.
So I get the anger from those who are dead set against amnesty for some who ignorantly believe we owe it to them anyway, I get the anger of the average taxpayer who knows that amnesty in the short term means more in benefits paid out than taxes paid in and I get the anger from many American citizens who view amnesty as meaning twice as many legal applicants for jobs in an already dismal job market. I get all of that, but the anger will get us nowhere. For Republicans especially, the anger will only make it easy for others to cast our party as the party of the angry racists, no matter how far that may be from the truth.
We need to remind ourselves of something though, the vast majority of illegals are here to work hard and prosper. It’s not like you can be angry at the illegal immigrants themselves for coming here. Just put yourself in their shoes. If you wanted a better life for yourself and you wanted a better life for your family, are you really telling me you’d put those hopes and dreams aside to respect the laws of a United States which only enforces it’s immigration laws halfheartedly at best?
Republicans like Sen. David Vitter, Rich Lowry and Ann Coulter need to stop sniping and ditch the anger and deal with the reality: there are 11 million illegals in America and those people are already here. To invoke the fairy wand again, there’s no magic fairy wand you can wave to make them go away.
The solution will not come in the form of a police state running some massive deportation program. Amnesty is going to happen. It’s a reality just as sure as amnesty was granted for a previous generation under Ronald Reagan. Republicans can either drop their “just build fences and deport everyone” thinking and put forth pragmatic solutions like McCain did in 2005 and like Rubio has done now, or they can continue to rail against reality, sound even more like the angry party no one wants to associate with and ultimately, end up being alienated (no pun intended) with the fastest growing demographic in the nation.

In the first of a series, I’m going to compare and contrast the soaring rhetoric of Obama, the awesome teleprompter reader and the reality of Obama, the pathological liar who truly believes there was nothing great about America until he became president.
Today in Obama vs. Obama: Executive Power and Immigration.
First, three quotes from just last year, when Obama, the awesome teleprompter reader, made it quite clear he understood the separation of powers as defined in Article I, Section 1 of the United States Constition:
With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed — and I know that everybody here at Bell is studying hard so you know that we’ve got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws.
There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as President. – Barack Obama, March 28, 2011
Note the fact that our constitutional scholar of a president is well aware of the three branches of government and states quite clearly that he understands the executive branch has zero power to assume the duties of the legislative branch.
Two more quotes from less than a year ago:
Now, I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own. .?.?. But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written. – Barack Obama, July 25, 2011
America is a nation of laws, which means I, as the president, am obligated to enforce the law. I don’t have a choice about that. – Barack Obama, July 25, 2011
So we’ve seen three different quotes which show Barack Obama was fully aware that his ensuing actions a year later would be completely against his powers as defined by the Constitution.
Here’s the real Obama, a man willing to defecate all over the Constitution and sell out any principle if it helps his chances for re-election:
Obama grants amnesty to 800,000 illegal immigrants by executive decree, giving them free reign to live and work in America.
To hell with all those who played by the rules and immigrated here legally, to hell with the rest of the Americans still seeking jobs while Obama’s economy has given us unemployment over 8% for the longest stretch in U.S. history.
Most importantly, to hell with the checks and balances so ingeniously devised by our founding fathers to keep tyranny at bay. King Barry has now assumed the powers of lawmaker along with his role as chief executive. The final step is to neutralize the Supreme Court he so plainly despises and then Obama will have “fundamentally transformed” America into the third world dictatorship he’d always envisioned it could be.

Three Mexican men who turned themselves in to authorities in connection with the 2009 murder of an American teenage girl have been transported to an Arizona jail, authorities said.
Officials from the Tucson Police Department said 20-year-old Orel Vasquez, 26-year-old Christian Betza Vasquez and 29-year-old Juan Carlos Leon were taken to the Pima County Jail on Monday, two days after they surrendered to authorities at the U.S.-Mexico border in Nogales, Ariz.
Authorities have said the men are accused of breaking into a Tucson home in August 2009 and demanding drugs and money. The men later realized they had entered the wrong house and fled before trying to carjack a passing vehicle.
A woman driving nearby refused to stop, and police say one of the suspects opened fire through the driver’s window, fatally striking her 15-year-old daughter, Brenda Arenas, of Tucson, Ariz.
All three men were in the U.S. illegally, authorities said.
Source: Fox News or click here to see yet another instance of the failure of journalism in America, with UPI blatantly refusing to report the facts – not one mention of the fact that all three men were here illegally!
If the Federal Government had properly protected the borders as the law dictates, this teenage girl would still have her whole life ahead of her. The negligence of our Federal Government to protect the borders is directly responsible for the death of Brenda Arenas.
The family of Brenda Arenas should hold the goverment liable and sue the Feds for abject negligence in protecting its own citizens.
