Letters from the Lunar Outpost

To change and change for the better are two different things.

Perhaps the greatest tragedy of Donaldgate is that one woman's life is ruined. How can V. Stiviano ever recover from being introduced to America as the woman who was willing to sleep with THAT guy - Donald Sterling - just so she can live a lavish ifestyle?

Perhaps the greatest tragedy of the release of the Donald Sterling tape is that one woman’s life is ruined. How can V. Stiviano ever recover from being introduced to America as the woman who was willing to sleep with THAT guy – Donald Sterling – just so she can live a lavish lifestyle? She did it to herself, but it’s still pretty sad.

So yesterday, a secret recording was released of L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling in which he was exposed as a full-blown racist:

– “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?” (3:30)

– “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that . . . and not to bring them to my games.” (5:15)

– ”I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.” (7:45)

– “…Don’t put him [Magic Johnson] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.” (9:13)

Source: The Daily Caller via TMZ

No way you can walk back those comments. And in a sick way, I bet you Donald Sterling probably thinks of himself as a liberated mind, you see, he doesn’t have any hangups if his girl is having sex with them black folks (interracial sex is usually the biggest nightmare in the minds of these mental defectives) no, he doesn’t care if you sleep with them, he just doesn’t want to have to see it or hear about it on social media and at his sports arena. Seriously, I bet he really believes that somehow makes him a bit elevated from your garden variety racist.

When the story broke, after I got past the nausea and disgust that people like this still are still walking the earth and have yet to be completely shamed into non-existence, my very next thought was, “Please don’t let him be a Republican, please don’t let him be a Republican . . . ” While I know that racists come in all shapes, sizes and party affiliations, if this guy had turned out to be a Republican, the media would never let us hear the end of it.

Well, if you want to know what political party someone subscribes to, just follow the money. It turns out that racist Donald Sterling is on the books as having donated to disgraced California Democrat Governor Gray Davis, he’s donated to Democrat Senator Leahy, the lefty from Vermont, as well Democrat senator and presidential candidate Bill Bradley.

So he’s donated to Democrats and no one but Democrats. How else can you tell that Don is a dyed in the wool Dem?

This is only one of many examples in recent memory of Democrats showing their true inner racist when they didn’t know they were being recorded:

150 years ago, the nation was fighting a war to liberate blacks from Democrat plantation owners, today the NBA has to liberate itself from a Democrat team owner. On both moral grounds and from a purely business standpoint, there is no way the NBA can allow itself to continue associating with an owner who is on public record spewing that level of bigotry.

You’re sound asleep when you hear a thump outside your bedroom door.

Half-awake, and nearly paralyzed with fear, you hear muffled whispers. At least two people have broken into your house and are moving your way.

With your heart pumping, you reach down beside your bed and pick up your shotgun. You rack a shell into the chamber, then inch toward the door and open it.

In the darkness, you make out two shadows. One holds a weapon — it looks like a crowbar.

When the intruder brandishes it as if to strike, you raise the shotgun and fire. The blast knocks both thugs to the floor. One writhes and screams while the second man crawls to the front door and lurches outside.

As you pick up the telephone to call police, you know you’re in trouble. In your country, most guns were outlawed years before, and the few that are privately owned are so stringently regulated as to make them useless. Yours was never registered.

Police arrive and inform you that the second burglar has died. They arrest you for First Degree Murder and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.

When you talk to your attorney, he tells you not to worry: authorities will probably plea the case down to manslaughter. “What kind of sentence will I get?” you ask. “Only ten-to-twelve years,” he replies, as if that’s nothing. “Behave yourself, and you’ll be out in seven.”

The next day, the shooting is the lead story in the local newspaper. Somehow, you’re portrayed as an eccentric vigilante while the two men you shot are represented as choir boys. Their friends and relatives can’t find an unkind word to say about them. Buried deep down in the article, authorities acknowledge that both “victims” have been arrested numerous times. But the next day’s headline says it all: “Lovable Rogue Son Didn’t Deserve to Die.” The thieves have been transformed from career criminals into Robin Hood-type pranksters.

As the days wear on, the story takes wings. The national media picks it up, then the international media.

The surviving burglar has become a folk hero. Your attorney says the thief is preparing to sue you, and he’ll probably win.

The media publishes reports that your home has been burglarized several times in the past and that you’ve been critical of local police for their lack of effort in apprehending the suspects. After the last break-in, you told your neighbor that you would be prepared next time. The District Attorney uses this to allege that you were lying in wait for the burglars.

A few months later, you go to trial. The charges haven’t been reduced, as your lawyer had so confidently predicted. When you take the stand, your anger at the injustice of it all works against you. Prosecutors paint a picture of you as a mean, vengeful man.

It doesn’t take long for the jury to convict you of all charges.

The judge sentences you to life in prison.

This case really happened.

On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk, England, killed one burglar and wounded a second. In April, 2000, he was convicted and is now serving a life term.

How did it become a crime to defend one’s own life in the once-great British Empire?

– By Robert A. Waters, June 30, 2000

No doubt, some people would like to see that kind of draconian gun control make its way across the Atlantic to the former shores of the land of the free. Maybe we just need to get rid of this whole stigma about gun control being “anti-American”. Maybe gun control is really as American as ignorant college kids wearing Che Guevara t-shirts, as American as a New York Times writer winning a Pulitzer Prize for singing the praises of totalitarianism under Stalin in Soviet Russia. Maybe now that America has elected its first Communist president, it’s only fitting that we should follow in the jackbooted footsteps of every other Communist nation in history by stripping the plebs of their right to bear arms.

Waters’ article was written in 2000, but it’s even more relevant today with America ruled by a president who professed his heartfelt belief in the Second Amendment while campaigning, and who most assuredly laughs in private at the thought of actually being bound to anything he may have had to say to get elected.

There’s a parallel between the article, where a mass shooting in Britain involving a Kalashnikov rifle somehow translated to a confiscation of handguns, and what we’re seeing here in the U.S., with a pistol-weilding lunatic in Connecticut being used to revive the ban on assault rifles.

Of course, when the politicians tell you they’re only coming for your assualt rifles, realize they’re lying just as surely as their lips are moving. Joe Biden, the point man in the administration’s mission to dismantle the Second Amendment, has made it quite clear they’re willing to consider anything and everything the government can do to to strip the commoners of their freedoms in the name of the common good. What should they worry, the ruling elite can always depend on armed guards to provide for their own safety and for the safety of their children at school.

This has nothing to do with fake tears shed over a senseless tragedy, in the world of the ruling elite, this is about making sure the subjects of the state have no way of challenging their government overlords. This latest attempt at a governmental gun grab is not about the safety of the average American, after all, more hammers, clubs, and other blunt objects are involved in murders than rifles or shotguns. No, what this is about exploting a tragedy, this is about Obama trying to impose fundamental change on America by never allowing a serious crisis to go to waste.

Joe Biden - Cymbal-Crashing Debate Monkey

Joe Biden’s performance at the vice presidential debate Thursday was hands down the rudest, most undignified act we’ve seen since the advent of the nationally televised debate. It made Al Gore’s incessant sighing in 2000 seem quaint by comparison.

Perhaps Joe Biden’s buffoonery was a matter of overcompensation, a direct result of just how bad Obama’s presidential debate performance was. Just how bad was Obama’s debate performance?

So bad that it caused some of Obama’s staunchest allies like Jon Stewart and commentators at liberal websites like The Daily Beast, The Atlantic, and The Guardian, to question whether Obama even wanted to win reelection.

Obama’s debate performance was so uninspired that it caused Nathaniel Frank at HuffPo to laughably (and yet in all seriousness) ask his readers if it even mattered whether Obama wants another four years!

So I’m sure Obama’s dispirited followers felt re-energized by Biden’s ridiculous and totally over-the-top performance in the vice presidential debate, but outside Obama Zombieland, that visual right there pretty much sums up what Biden’s debate performance looked like to the rest of us.

All props go to Serr8d for the spot-on visualization of Joe Biden, The Cymbal-Crashing Debate Monkey.

And of course, I’d be remiss not to thank Joe Biden himself for that unforgettable performance. Who will ever forget all the grinning and the eye rolling and the arm-flailing histrionics performed by Smirkin’ Joe that night?

Can we all give Joe a hand?

In Proverbs 29:9, The Bible serves as a perfect analysis of last night’s debate.

Marilyn’s article has another good Biden image, some astute analysis and the top three lines from Paul Ryan. It’s well worth the click.

Joe Biden Acts the Clown

Imagine if you invited someone into your home and tried to have a mature dialog about the issues of the day. Imagine further that every time it was your turn to speak, your guest immediately began laughing in grandiose histrionics, as if everything you were saying was the most ludicrous thing he’d ever heard in his life before you even had a chance to begin making your point. How quickly would that act wear thin and become downright obnoxious?

Now take it to the national level. In a serious debate, if one of the candidates makes a statement that seems so disingenuous to the other, once or twice you might see the other candidate unable to contain a smile of disbelief while his opponent speaks, but when a candidate responds to every single thing their opponent says with a condescending smile, a shaking of the head and a chuckle that suggests they’re hearing something along the lines of the most ludicrous thing they’ve ever heard anyone say, by the third or fourth time they do it, their act is so overblown and overdone it becomes quite obvious how completely fabricated their responses are.

An endless stream of guffaws, shit-eating smiles and eye rolls as he tried to mock every single point Paul Ryan made before he even got a chance to begin to make it – that pretty much sums up the performance of Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. in last night’s debate, a vice president who was totally unbecoming of the office, behaving without a modicum of the seriousness worthy of a national debate and laughing during what should have been a serious discussion of the challenges that the nation faces. Biden was smug, condescending and belligerent during every moment his debate opponent spoke. Biden wouldn’t even make eye contact while Ryan spoke, completely dismissing him, showing no respect and nothing but disdain. It was unprofessional, unseemly and far beneath the dignity that we expect of a debate of this magnitude.

And how ironic that during a time when America is hypervigilant in its awareness and its campaigns against bullying, we were forced to witness a vice president bullying his opponent at a level we’ve never seen before in a national debate. Of course, I’m sure the Democrat base was ecstatic to see Joe come out swinging wildly as he did for the full ninety minutes, especially coming on the heels of a Presidential debate where Obama lost to Romney by the biggest margin in Gallup polling history, a 72% to 20% victory for the challenger, but on the heels of Obama’s listless and lackluster performance in the first debate, Biden’s performance last night smacked so much of desperate overcompensation.

For anyone outside the Obama supporters who are completely beyond reasoning with, I seriously doubt it went over well with most of the rest of America to see Biden interrupt Ryan over 80 times in a 90 minute debate, and I imagine his act was even less popular with most female viewers who would rather view a cordial, respectful and intelligent discussion of the issues. As one woman in the post-debate CNN focus group said, Biden was “being a buffoon in general.”

It reminds me of that incessant, condescending sighing that Al Gore was heard making during the 2000 presidential debate and how much it turned Americans off against him. Chris Wallace, a man who’s been around to cover every debate since Nixon – Kennedy in 1960 said this: “All all Gore did was sigh, this was an opera performance by Joe Biden.”

It was a performance alright, perhaps more appropriate for an opera stage than a vice presidential debate, however.

Wallace also said, “I don’t believe I have ever seen a debate in which one participant was as openly disrespectful of another as Joe Biden was to Paul Ryan.”

It was a disgrace is what it was.
