Remember when the Obama State Media tried to pin the Giffords shooting on some crazed Tea Partier? From the very first reports, before even the scantest details had emerged, the media was working furiously to weave the “Tea Party to Blame” narrative into the story. Remember how it turned out instead to be the farthest thing from a Tea Partier in the form of a Hinkley-type loser who had posted a video of himself burning an American flag and listed the Communist Manifesto as one of his favorite books?
Remember how after they’d thoroughly embarrassed themselves with their initial attempts at pinning it on the Tea Party, the OSM then tried to wipe the egg off it’s face by instead trying to pin the shooting on the Tea Party indirectly by blaming it on the “overheated rhetoric” of the day, or to translate, anyone who dare question Dear Leader?
Whatever happened to the media and their impassioned please for civility in the political discourse? Over the last month we’ve seen the following hateful words being spewed from politicians with nary a word of reproach from the very same media:
- Democrat Rep. Andre Carson saying, “Some of them in Congress right now of this Tea Party movement would love to see you and me … hanging on a tree.”
- Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters saying, “I’m not afraid of anybody. This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned, the Tea Party can go straight to hell.”
- And Obama’s own vice president likening the Tea Party to “terrorists” and “barbarians”
If you value your health and safety, don't cross picket lines and don't join the wrong political party.
And now this, from Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa, calling the crowd to action before welcoming Obama on stage:
“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.
“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa added.
From the beginning, it was pretty laughable for the same Obama who once said “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun” to suddenly start calling on people to tone down the rhetoric in the wake of the Giffords shooting, but who knows, maybe we could have held out hope that the tragedy gave Obama a change of heart.
Today, following up Hoffa and his calls for his “army” of teamsters to “take out these sons of bitches,” as the president was called to the stage, Obama finally had a chance to show it wasn’t just empty words when he called for more civility in the political arena. Would Obama rise to the opportunity and prove he meant what he said? Would he show some principle by suggesting that maybe calling on people “take out” members of another political party might be taken as an incitement to violence? That maybe this was crossing the line of civility just a tad bit?
Yeah, right! Instead, Obama went on stage and told the audience how proud he was of Hoffa.
Not to worry, you won’t hear a single word of this hypocrisy anywhere across the Obama State Media, not on ABC, not on NBC, not on CBS, not on PBS, not on NPR, not on CNN and certainly not on MSNBC.
