Action is greater than writing. A good man is a nobler object of contemplation than a great author. There are but two things worth living for: to do what is worthy of being written; and to write what is worthy of being read; and the greater of these is the doing.
- Albert Pike, American Lawyer, Masonic Author, and Historian (1809-1891)
The last time I requested that we pray together at this blog, it was after we learned of Barack Obama’s disturbing admission that he had eaten dog, and so we prayed for Bo, that he may survive the culinary preferences of our dog-eating president.
If you’re so inclined as to pray with me, this time I ask that we may say a prayer on a very important day for our nation’s future.
Tonight Mitt Romney will be debating Barack Obama in a town hall meeting at Hofstra University. The stakes couldn’t be any higher and the odds and Candy Crowley herself couldn’t be weighing any more heavily against him.
Please pray with me . . .
Our Father in Heaven, thank you for all the blessings You give us. Thank You for the health and prosperity of our friends and family members, our neighbors and countrymen. For those of us who were born here and for those of us who made our way to immigrate here, thank you for the wonderful honor you’ve given us to allow us to live our lives as Americans. Heavenly Father, please give Mitt Romney the clarity and conviction to convince America that he is the man best suited for the job of president of the United States. Please allow Your Holy Spirit to work through Mitt Romney tonight as he makes his case to the nation. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Liberals may scoff at the thought of resorting to prayer for Mitt Romney tonight but I saw the Holy Spirit working through Mitt Romney in the first debate. I felt the Holy Spirit working through Mitt Romney as sure as I’ve ever felt anything in my life, so it is with complete sincerity and total conviction that I pray that once again, Mitt Romney will open himself completely and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to work through him tonight in the presidential debate.
